Get Well

Sorry I haven't posted anything for a while, life sometimes overtakes. So here is a quite appropriate card for a loved one.

I used a new embossing folder on white card and cut the butterfly from the same card. I layered it on blue card and cut the corners and 'get well' out of the same. I added some blue gems to the butterfly some liquid pearl dots to the embossed background and a small white organza bow.

Marianne Design products used DS0908, CR1318, LR0285 and CR1205

I am entering the following challenges:-

Wishing you all good health and thanks for dropping by.

Mixed Media

I am going to Cornwall next week to visit family and so I have made this for my beautiful granddaughter. I didn't have any particular challenge in mind but I have as usual used mostly Marianne Design products.

I cut the die cuts out of thin chipboard. I glued some scraps of paper to an 8x8 canvas and after adding the die cuts for the background I covered with a thin coat of gesso. Then I coloured it with gelato crayons. I added some texture paint with a chicken wire mask and some lace and sprayed the whole thing with Sweet Poppy Acrylic Mists in Burnt Sienna and Shimmering Bronze.
The leaves on the left were made from  polymer clay which I coloured with Perfect Pearls Sunflower Sparkle before baking. The bird house I crackle painted. I added another bit of lace on the left.
The pink flowers are from LR0111 and the leaves are a paper punch both using mulberry paper tinted with distress inks. The larger flower is brown mulberry paper using COL1304 cut twice and embossed with Stampendous Frantage Aged Gold and scrunched up before glueing the gem centre. I was quite pleased with the look of it.

I had a gold frame in my stash for the photo and added a small paper butterfly.

I used the following MD products, LR0112 swirl, LR0111 swirl and flower, LR0205 bird house, LR0157 lavender leaves, LR0272 vintage trellis, DF3416 marrakesh trellis, COL1304 flower, PL4503 enamel embellishments.
Other products used Faber Castelle Gelatos, Fimo polymer clay, Bo Bunny Double Dot Chocolate, Perfect Pearls Mica Powder, Stampendous Frantage Embossing Powder, Sweet Poppy Mists, chickenwire mask and acrylic texture paint, lace and gems.

I shall enter it in the following challenges:-

Hope you like it. Thanks for looking.

Kraft Card

As I have probably said before I am a great fan of Gabrielle Pollacco. Her latest project for Scrapbook Diaries is just gorgeous and she has made a video tutorial. I have tried to use some of her techniques but on a smaller scale and I have had to improvise as sadly I don't have access to some of the products she uses if I could afford them. I love the Dusty Attic wood pieces but as the challenge for Marianne Design is Kraft Card I have used this for some of the embellishments as well as the card itself.

I have torn the the edges of the paper and a v groove in the top then used Faber Castell Gold Champagne Gelato round the edge. Gabrielle has used something called Prills which I confess I have not come across before so I have have used instead Stampendous Frantage Shabby White round the groove and bottom right corner. I have stuck some lace under the groove and the right side before fixing to the card. Fortunately I have lots of oddments of lace in my stash which I got from Nottingham Lace Market many years ago.
I used the following Marianne Design products, LR0130 Doily in white card and in Kraft card CR1201 Circle, LR0285 Anja's Vintage Corner, LR0111 Swirl, CR1336 Leaves, DF3416 Marrakesh Trellis and DDS3329 Daisy Dancing who I have coloured with alcohol pens. I have used a bought flower and added a large pearl gem for the centre and some smaller ones on the swirl.
I do enjoy this style of card but I need practice. Still I hope you like it.

Holiday Fun

I have made another card with the holiday theme, this time with Daisy. She has managed to find a bank of grass to read her book.

I have used the stamp DDS3320 Daisy in the Sun and the boat from DDS3333 Summer set and I cut the top of the card and the blue mat with CR1276 Wave die. I have used Stampendous Embossing  Powders Frantage Aged Gold and Spoonful of Midnight to try and resemble shingle along the bottom.
I mat and layered the blue paper on to Kraft card using the border from CR1273 along one edge and used cream card and Kraft card for the shells LR0230 and ocean set CR1279. The background paper is from Dovecraft.
Additional materials some turquoise ribbon and 2 turquoise flower gems.

It's still a long way off for my holiday in Cornwall but the weather is improving and we're never too far from the sea in  England. Here is Don at the Seaside enjoying the sun.

The background paper is Abrianna from K&Company and I have printed a small postcard. I have used the following MD products, DDS3352 Holiday, LR0111 Frame, LR0230 Shells, LR0231 Lighthouse, CR1279 Seagulls. I have added a blue gingham ribbon bow.

Round Easel Card

The Challenge for the Marianne Design blog is to make a card that is not rectangular or square, so I have made a round easel card using a circular frame die.

I cut some cream card on a fold to make the base and then used the die again to make the topper from some pink card.

I added some lace then circles in light and dark pink. I stamped the sentiments on cream card and used cream card for the swirls and leaves and pale pink for the flowers.

I used the following MD dies LR0112 Circle and Swirl, LR0361 Flower, CR1201 Circle, LR0116 Swirl, LR0192 Leaves and CR1242 for small rectangle set on foam pads to act as a stopper.
I added a pink organza bow, a heart shaped gem and 3 gems for the flower centres.

Summer

I made this card for the Butterfly Challenge and a summery card as the sun has finally decided to show its face. I have cut the image with an oval die and mounted on olive card though it's more a drab olive brown than green.

I used Daisy in the Sun DDS3320 coloured with alcohol pens. I use mostly Spectrum Noir but some of them have run dry so I have picked up some odd colours of different makes. I would love to afford some Copic markers one day as they seem to work well from what I have seen of other people's work.
I used the following MD dies CR1273 Edge, LR0142 Poinsettia, LR0224 Just for You, CR1354 Butterflies and some lace and 3 red gems.

Pink Cupcake

I recently received this gift of Cupcake Doily die, (thank you Brenda of Floral Fantasies), and In the Pink Challenge is Cupcakes so of course it had to be the centre piece of a card.

I cut it in pink and mounted on magenta card. Then I made the flower spray using the following Marianne Design dies, LR0112 swirls, CR1201 small flowers, CR1249 large flowers, CR1354 butterflies. I cut the label LR0241 from magenta card and used a stamp from PP1403.

I made this quick card for the Marianne Design Challenge. This is not my usual style. I like lots of detail but clean and simple can be very eye-catching. I still managed to use 3 MD dies for the MDDivas Challenge though.

In the garden

The challenge for Don and Daisy is to use your favourite Don and Daisy stamp. That is so difficult as I love them all and there are still some I want. However I have used Daisy in the Park quite a few times. She looks so thoughtful. So I have made this card for the Crafty Friends Challenge In the Garden.

I have cut the trellis, plant pot and corner out of the same red card as the base card which matches the flowers in the background paper. I punched some tiny flowers out of the same card and added some liquid pearl centres. I managed to find in my stash a stick-on butterfly to almost match the one on the paper.
Marianne Design productd used are DDS3318 Daisy in the Park, CR1249 Frame, DF3416 Marrakesh Trellis, LR0205 Fence, LR0261 Topiary, LR0285 Vintage Corner, LR0360 Grass.

I have layered the floral paper onto orange card and used orange for the mat of the image cut with my new Elegant Square Die. The flowers I have made out of mulberry paper which I have tinted with Spiced Marmalade distress ink which I also used on the die cut.
Marianne Design dies used are DDS3339 Diva Daisy, LR0310 Elegant Square, CR1203 for the flowers, LR0116 swirls, LR0156 leaves and LR0157 lavender.

Birds and Butterflies

The option for Marianne Design Divas Challenge is Birds, so I have used the Birds on a Branch Die with the addition of some tiny punched leaves and the option for Marianne Design Kreadiva's is Flowers so I have used the Pansy Die. I have just bought the lovely Butterfly Punch die, such good value and butterflies always make a nice addition to a card.

Marianne Design products used are DDS3329 Dancing Daisy, CR1203 square, CR1273 edge, CR1305 pansy, CR1354 butterflies and LR 0290.

Spring Crocuses

My second post has Daisy picking crocuses (DDS3517) and tidying up her garden.

I layered the pretty floral paper onto pink card and cut the image with CR1201 circle and layered onto mauve card. I used pink card to cut a small rose corner LR0315, the tulips LR0209 and 2 butterflies from LR0261. I cut the wheelbarrow LR0260 out of green card and added some Flower Soft spilling out of it. I added some tiny beads to the butterflies a pink gem in the bottom corner and a stick on mauve butterfly.

Spring Lambs

I haven't posted anything for a while as it's such a busy time in the garden this time of year. Don't you just love Spring, such a time of hope and anticipation. The trees are beginning to show that fresh spring green and the lambs are in the fields. So it's appropriate that the theme for the Don and Daisy and Marianne Design Challenges is Spring.
I have stamped Daisy directly onto the background paper and surrounded her with elements of Spring.

I used Kraft coloured card for the fence, tree trunk, trellis and bird, bright green and white card for the leaves, flowers and lambs. I added some Flower Soft to the tree and punched some tiny white butterflies.
I have used the following Marianne Design products. DDS3318 Daisy in the Park, DF3416 Marrakesh trellis, COL1383 tree and fence, CR1308 Lily of the Valley, LR0258 lambs, LR0205 for the bird and CR1206 for the flowers. The leaves are an old die I have but I'm not sure of the make.

I used a khaki coloured card base (not Kraft Card) and some offcuts of coloured card for the leaves (CR1336) to match the colours in the papers. I framed Don with CR1249 and cut a corner LR0143 and a bicycle LR0394 out of the base card.

Warm Colours

I hope this card makes you think of spring and warmer weather. It was a  frosty start here today but the sun is shining now.

I have chosen a pink  and green colour scheme and used the stamp Daisy in the sun. I used a pretty pink rose flowery paper and made the roses to match using mulberry paper coloured with worn lipstick distress ink. I used the smallest die in the set CR1203. There are some great tutorials on the Marianne Design website. I added leaves from LR0156. In the background I have a fence and tree from COL1383 Village Set and added Flower Soft to the tree. In the front of the image I have the fence from LR0205. I added 3 pink hearts to finish.

Dancing Daisy

This card is for the Don and Daisy Challenge. As you have probably realised I am a big fan of these cute images. I have used aqua card as the card base and for the die cuts.

I have used a pretty butterfly paper cut to follow CR1273 Anja's Flowers and framed Daisy with LR0272 Anja Vintage Frame. The flowers were cut from mulberry paper using the small flower in CR1203 with the stamen from LR0142 (small poinsettia). The leaves are from LR0156 and the lavender LR0157. Love

I made this for the Butterfly over the edge challenge but was too busy to get it in on time. Fortunately it can go in the S for Stamping challenge as I have used an old stamp from the Daisy and Dandelion collection. As you can see I have overlapped the die cut heart.

I can also enter it in the MMM challenge as I have used the word LOVE using MD COL1396. Other MD dies used are DF3416 Marakesh trellis, CR1305 Pansy and LR0261 Butterflies. I have added a wooden heart to finish.

Shabby Pink

Not sure if this is Vintage enough for the MDD challenge but the Pink theme fits with other challenges I follow. It's a very dull and wet day here so the photo isn't great.

Lots of layers in this. Some pretty pink flowered paper layered on pink card. I added 2 strips of pink lace top and bottom. I embossed white card with DF3416 Marakesh and added some Frantage Shabby Pink for sparkle. I used DDS3330 'Love Is' and framed with CR1203 in red card.  In the bottom left there is some spider's web and pink twine bow topped with a wooden heart and pink heart gem. Top right I have made 3 small cabbage roses out of several layers of pink tissue paper cut with the smallest flower in CR1201 then fluffed up and fastened with a small pink brad. I cut the swirls from LR0112 and leaves from LR0156.

Lazy Daisy

This card was made for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge Ladies Only. I liked that the background paper matched the pattern on the die cut frme for Daisy.

The paper is from Raspberry Road with lightly distressed edges and a small Scrap under the flowers. The red card is embossed with DF3416 Marrakesh folder. Daisy (DDS3305) is framed with CR1203 Square and the flowers made from mulberry paper with the smallest flower of the set. A green swirl from. LR0112 and leaves from CR1336. I have used the background paper on the shade of the lamp LR0267 and cut 3 small butterflies from LR0261.

Romantic Wedding

I made this for the Marianne Design Challenge. I have used an art deco paper background and cream card for the die cuts which I have inked with distress inks.

For the Image I have used Don and Daisy Just Married DDS3303 and coloured with alcohol pens and framed them with the lovely Petra's Bridge LR0276 which I inked with Tea Die, the same for the corner LR0143. I made a 'bouquet' from CR1308 Lily of the Valley and LR0157 Lavender. Vintage

My second post for today is for the Marianne Design Divas Challenge. I had this sweet image on my computer, not sure where it came from but there are a lot of sites offering free vintage images not subject to copyright.

I used Indigoblu paper for the background. Using cream coloured card I cut Petra's Bridge LR0276 as a frame and Vintage Corners LR0285.

I have a drawer full of mixed media products which I hardly ever use, so I am determined to try some new techniques. I have coloured with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and then used Stampendous Aged Gold which I have not used before to give the die cuts a vintage look. It's very random but I quite like the effect.

I used some gold coloured card to cut the leaves with LR0156 and mulberry paper to cut the flowers with CR1203 which I coloured with Vintage Photo. The centres are the stamen from LR0142 with tiny pearls. I found a strip of gold lace flowers to add to the vintage look.

I've made another card for the Don and Daisy Challenge this time to coincide with Kreadiva's Snowflake Challenge.

Skating Don is dressed in blue. I've used blue and grey background papers and light blue card to cut the fancy square from CR1203. I used white card to cut the fence LR0205 and Snowflakes LR0125 and grey card to cut the leaves LR0192 and skis CR1252. The small snowflakes are from CR1252. In the Pink

My first pink card for a while for the Pink ladies but they have an Anything Goes challenge at the moment so that's ok. I think I need to make myself a light box. I like to use natural light where possible when photographing cards but it's not always easy with these dull rainy days. Fortunately the sun came out for a short while today.

The background paper is Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee mounted on pink Bazzill card which I also used to cut the Anja Lace Border LR0201, Vintage Corners LR0285 and Bird Feeder CR1291. I used white card to cut the Marakesh trellis DF3416 and Lily of the Valley CR1308. The image is DDS3322 Daisy on a Bicycle. Yellow Orchid

Thank you to Crafty Friends for choosing me as one of their top 3 on my very first attempt.
A bright yellow card this time for the Butterfly Challenge blog following the Marianne Design sketch. This little swallow decided not to fly south for winter. Maybe not a good choice with all the rain we've been having.

I used yellow card to cut the Anja Border LR0201 and Vintage Corner LR0285 and cut the Orchid COL1379 out of cream and yellow card. I added some lace, yellow bow and a yellow butterfly.
