mixed media canvas

After trying my hand at some mixed media cards I thought I'd try a full blown canvas. This one is inspired by my visits to Cornwall and has a photo of Godrevy lighthouse as its focus.

First I used 7 Gypsies Paris  tissue and bleeding art tissue paper on the background

After removing the art tissue I applied a thin coat of gesso, some gelato colours, which I allowed to run and then added some texture with stencils and home made texture paste plus some random circles with bo bunny silver pearlescant.

Next I added the die cuts, gems, shells, butterfles and so on including a crab and anchor made from shrink plastic.

Close up of crab and anchor.

Hope you enjoyed this half as much as I enjoyed making it.

spring

I have made a card for the Don and Daisy challenge using Daisy Dancing, full of the joys of spring, just around the corner I hope.

I used pink Centura Pearl for the backing card and choose some pretty pink floral papers to layer onto it. I was going to add a paper doily as another layer but it didn't seem to look right under the topper so I made a sort of fan  from half  a doily and tucked it under the flowers in the corner.
I used MD die LR0116 to cut a frame for daisy and CR1291 for the birdbath. I used  LR0156 for the leaves. I finished with pink lace along the bottom, 2 heart gems and 3 punched butterflies.

I am entering it in the following challenges:-

let's shop

Just a quick card for the MDD challenge before I'm off to Cornwall to visit my daughter.
This time I downloaded daisy from the Don and Daisy blog.

I used pink bazill card for the base card and swirl corner.
I cut a dress out of the backing paper to add to the tailor's dummy and added some small pearls. I used larger pearls along the anja border die cut and added some pink ribbon. The handbag I made out of glove leather with a jewelry finding for the clasp.

I am entering this in the MDD challenge Pearls and/or Ribbons
